What is a cologne?
-
The story goes that these fresh waters popular among both men and women were invented by the Italian Giovanni Paolo Feminis in Cologne.
These refreshingly fragrant alcoholic lotions, made from herbs and citrus fruits such as lemon, bergamot and mandarin, were more of a medicine than a refined fragrance at the time. This miraculous water was used for its tonic effects.
Today, they are faceted with woody and musky notes to give us more depth, contrast and hold.

What does orange blossom smell like?
- The orange flower has thousand faces... It can have floral, green, sweet but also powdery notes. In the 001, it is its very soft floral facet that we find. Very appreciated, it reminds us of the first soft summer evenings, the scented gardens and the smell of baby. A bubble of sweetness!

What does petit grain smell like?
- Olfactory, it is a note both green, like a plant and flowery, like the orange blossom. Not surprising since its essence is extracted from the stems and leaves of the Bitter Orange tree. The perfumer uses it here to accentuate the orange blossom.

What does bergamot smell like?
- Bergamot is fresh, sometimes green, sometimes floral and fruity. Used in the top notes, it offers an incomparable and sparkling start. Most of them come from Calabria in Italy and reveal different notes depending on the parcels where they come from, fresher in the south and more flowery in the north. It's a bit like wine, where the terroir plays an important role! The time of the harvest also plays a role, green and zesty at the beginning of the season, they are more fruity at the end.
