All our Luna lamps are hand-made from rattan. Rattan is a climbing palm or liana that is using trees as support and can grow up to 100 meters long. Most of the existing rattan species grow in tropical forest of South East Asia, of which 70% in Indonesia. The weaving of rattan into baskets, furniture and lamps are specialized skills that are taught from parents to children.
