Started by friends at the University of Edinburgh in 2015, Tala was founded on the premise that good design can help mitigate climate change. From their London-based studio, they explore the tension between sustainability, technology and design through lighting. They donate a percentage of their revenue to reforestation programmes in the UK, the US and around the world. On average, a Tala bulb uses 90% less energy than a traditional incandescent bulb. And it won’t need replacing for 8-10 years.
